About Me – Laura Thorne
Hi, I’m Laura, and I’m here to help you turn your passion for the environment into a thriving career—without all the guesswork and frustration.
With over 8 years of career coaching experience and a background as an environmental scientist, I’ve guided 200+ professionals to land fulfilling jobs, pivot careers, and gain clarity on their next steps. But my journey didn’t start in an office—it started in the field, working in surface water quality, habitat restoration, GIS, and more before stepping into management roles.
I know the challenges you’re facing because I’ve been there. I’ve sat on both sides of the hiring table—as a job seeker and as a hiring manager looking for top talent. I’ve seen what works (and what doesn’t) when it comes to getting hired in the environmental field.
Along the way, I’ve co-hosted Environmental Professionals Radio, served as president of the Tampa Bay Association of Environmental Professionals, and built a coaching framework that actually works—ENVIROlocity™.
